Five members of the Darussalam Motorcycle Association (PEMODA) representing the association will be taking part in the 1st ASEAN Bikers gathering held in Kelantan Malaysia.

The members consisting of senior members of PEMODA as well as ex President of PEMODA, Major (r) Hj Mohd Daud, ex General Secretary, Freddy Sirun with Haji Harry, and Pg Azmi, led by PEMODA President Hj Maidin bin Momin will be introducing PEMODA to the rest of the ASEAN bikers community as well as promoting the Borneo Island International Big Bike Festival of which this year Brunei will be hosting.

PEMODA President Hj Maidin bin Momin, said that by attending the gathering, it is a good opportunity to introduce PEMODA to the rest of the bikers community in the region, in particular the 10 ASEAN countries.

Although PEMODA is well known in Borneo the third largest Island in the world, very little is known about PEMODA in the rest of the region, in particular other ASEAN bikers club. In fact he said that we also don’t know much about other biker associations in the region let alone ASEAN.

By attending the 1st ASEAN biker gathering it is an opportunity to not only to get acquainted with other biker associations but also to invite bikers from the region to attend the Borneo Island International Big Bike Festival which will be held in Brunei Darussalam in June 2010.

This will also give the opportunity for PEMODA members to be face to face with their counterparts, exchanging ideas, experiences and stories. Bikers have one thing in common, that is the love of bikes. This passion transcends, gender, status, and race, it is also the glue that keeps them together.

The 1st ASEAN Bike Gathering is in conjunction with the 4th Kelantan Bike Week which is held every year in Kota Bahru, Kelantan, where it is expected to be the largest gathering of Bikers in Malaysia this month.
